Welcome to Calvary Chapel Richmond

On January 17, 1999, a small group, which had been meeting regularly as a Bible Study, decided to begin meeting on Sunday mornings as Calvary Chapel Richmond. Over the next few years God added to our number, and eventually, the living room in which we were meeting was filled to capacity. A few years and some moves later, space came available at the local Christian Elementary School.

Today, Calvary Chapel Richmond is a growing community of believers seeking to know Christ personally through the simple verse by verse teaching of God's word. Our desire is to be conformed into His image through the power of the Holy Spirit and to bring glory to God.

As a church we are devoted to the apostles teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer, much like the early church was. The atmosphere is relaxed, informal, and inviting, with worship that is spiritual, warm, and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Missions & Compassion

The Lungren's - France - After serving in full-time mission work in Burkina Faso (Africa) from 1989 – 2004, God next opened new doors for them in France. It was challenging dealing with the cost of living and bureaucratic requirements, but the Lord provided the needed financial support in an amazing way, and in August of 2005 they moved, along with their two teens, Alex (now 17) and Natassia (15), to Thuméries, France.
